Karnataka Itihasa academy is trying
to create public awareness through ‘Save Historical Heritage’ programme. The
purpose of this movement is to give vast publicity for the protection of Ancient forts, buildings,
temples, churches, Masjids, tanks, edicts, hero stones, memorial stones, copper
plates, coins, Artifacts,( statues, handicrafts , paintings), weapons etc
Nature of the movements
Encouraging
the registration of ancient statues and
paintings (Antiquities)
Enlightening
the people living in that locality, about the necessity of protecting ancient edicts, statues, and memory stones
Raising voice against destruction, misuse of
ancient buildings and exerting pressure on the environment (publicity, Writing
to Government, and press)
Protection of
historical sites from the encroachers for agricultural and residential purpose.ion
Informing
authorized collectors ( Sahithya
parishat,universities and other concerned institutions) about the existence of Manuscripts. Informing
the state archeology about historical Documents
Academy wants to involve teachers, students, public and specially intellectuals in its work .
Conducting meetings, processions, seminars and
various competitions for high school and
college students,
Involving high school students to clean,
protect historical monuments and propagating the cause during the “Save
Historical heritage week’
